ISSUES ADDRESSED
Our proposal for the regeneration of The Royal Docks will address key challenges that were recognised through the site analysis.
EMPLOYMENT
Supporting local businesses through affordable commercial rates, and prioritising local people with employment opportunities and education.
HERTIAGE AND CULTURAL
Suitable investment to support and enhance the listed buildings on site to retain identity.
SAFTEY
Mix-use buildings and night-time activation from resturants or small events will improve safety using the ‘eyes on the streets’ theory.
HOUSING
We propose to convert phase 1 into mix-use buildings; residential and commercial, and incorporate new student housing.
PUBLIC REALM
Investment to make public spaces high quality and attractive. A range of uses will be introduced to create a vibrant place, like floating restaurants and pop-up events.
CREATING OPPORTUNITY
The creation of the culinary school will introduce a new wave of students to the area. Investment towards leisure and education will provide people with the involvement opportunities.
FUNDING
Converting residential units into phase one (top floors) will source income to the project. Charging small amounts for market and small events spaces.
GREEN SPACE AND INFRASTRUCTURE
We propose to incorporate green spaces and infrastructure into our design to improve sensory richness and vitality.
