Activities and Festivals
The incorporation of different activities and other happenings will encourage and give a reason for the community and other Londoners to come together and get involved. The Newham community is strong, and we want this to be present in the development. We hope this makes the dockland site vibrant and busy.
Design Ideas

Pop-Up Shops
We have purposefully provided spaces that are flexible and adaptable, mainly identifiable through the containers and rent available spaces, like the heritage building and ground floor units of Phase 1. We want to introduce a variety of retail services to generate activation and a buzz to The Royal Docks site.

Events
The inclusion of regular, weekly markets supports traditional and environmental ways of shopping. This concept will support local entrepreneurs and strengthen community cohesion. Flexible, multifunctional spaces on the ground floor units and outdoor areas provide space for community workshops and classes.

Dockland Festival
A community festival will provide economic and social benefits. The hope is to provide a vibrant and fun event, allowing the people of Newham to come together and celebrate their cultural identity, and history attached to the site. This will be supported by The English Heritage Trust as it promotes public access to enjoy the historic attributes and supports cultural regeneration.

Heritage Trail
A small heritage trail will be incorporated throughout the site, contributing to The Royal Dock's historic and unique identity. This will inspire interactive learning and remind the importance The Royal Docks served to the history of London.
