Jobs for Locals

Rising commercial rental spaces threaten smaller, independent businesses. It is not uncommon that many local, culturally relevant businesses that contribute to 'place identity' cannot afford to stay. We want to restrict displacement and in-place affordable rent capped to Newham's earning wages.

We want to transform The Royal Docks site to create opportunity for all people. Creating support hubs to link skills to education, and employment development whilst identifying skill gaps in the area. We hope to introduce a variety of workshops to maximise the opportunity for personal development. 

We want to integrate this partnership to bring together businesses and entrepreneurs together. This aims to support job and local economic growth. As The Royal Docks is London's only enterprise zone, this will be particularly beneficial. 

This organisation is designed to help Newham residents get into work. The support, advice and guidance aim to help each person achieve their full potential. For these reasons, we propose to have an office located in the hub of the redevelopment, in the hope to support students at school, the University of East London and residents of Newham.
